The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has rolled out extended operating hours across 16 offices nationwide, effective Thursday, May 14, to cut waiting times and improve access to its services for Ghanaian motorists.
The affected offices will now open from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm, Monday through Friday, a significant shift from standard working hours that the Authority says responds to rising demand at busy urban centres.
Offices in Accra, Kumasi, Tema, Takoradi, Tamale, Bolgatanga, Wa, Cape Coast, Koforidua, Sunyani, Ho, Techiman, Tarkwa and Winneba fall under the new arrangement. The DVLA Prestige Centre Head Office, Narhman Office and Weija Office are also included.
The DVLA announced the change through its official Facebook page on Thursday, framing the move as part of a wider drive to boost efficiency and make licensing, vehicle registration and related services more reachable to the public.
The extended window gives working professionals and commercial operators more flexibility to access DVLA services outside conventional office hours, a practical adjustment in cities where queues at licensing centres have long been a source of frustration.
