Bailey-Bridge01Work on the Agona Swedru Nkubem bye-pass Bailey bridge which collapsed as a result of the blasting of a stone in the Akora River by a contractor dredging the river about seven months ago is expected to be completed by august this year to help ease traffic congestion in the area.

Since the collapse of the bridge which served as alternative route to the Agona Swedru township and its surrounding areas, there has been a huge traffic congestion in the town, creating a lot of problem for both drivers and commuters.

But a visit to the site by the Municipal Chief Executive Mr. Samuel Oppong saw work on the bridge steadily progressing.

Accompanied by Departmental Heads of the Assembly, the MCE appealed to inhabitants of the town to exercise restraint and bear with the situation as he promised the bridge will be fixed as soon possible to bring activities in the town to normalcy.

The Site Engineer from the Bridge Unit of the Ghana High Authority, Mr. Aaron Amponsah however assured road users of efforts being made by his outfit to ensure that the bridge becomes usable by August.
