The Bourse Régionale des Valeurs Mobilières (BRVM), the West African Regional Stock Exchange, will host its 2026 investment roadshow at Nasdaq MarketSite in New York City on April 21, 2026, bringing together institutional investors, policymakers and market participants to discuss opportunities across the West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU).
The event, titled BRVM Investment Days 2026 and themed “Connecting Global Capital with West Africa’s Markets,” is the latest stop in an international series that has previously drawn over 100 investors per city across editions in London, Paris, New York, Dubai and Johannesburg.
The roadshow comes off the back of the BRVM’s strongest performance period in years. The BRVM Composite Index has risen by 99.15% over the past five years, with a further gain of 25.26% recorded in 2025 despite global market uncertainty. Total market capitalisation has reached CFA 24,781 billion, equivalent to approximately USD 40 billion, representing 18.37% of WAEMU’s gross domestic product. The region’s economic growth was estimated at 6.7% in 2025.
Dr Edoh Kossi Amenounve, Chief Executive Officer of the BRVM, said the exchange has moved beyond its frontier market label. “For investors looking beyond traditional markets, WAEMU offers a rare combination of growth, returns and increasing liquidity,” he said.
The full-day conference at Nasdaq MarketSite on 151 West 43rd Street will feature four panel sessions covering the WAEMU macroeconomic outlook, strategic growth sectors including energy, agriculture and digital transformation, green finance and infrastructure instruments, and long-term financing through development finance institutions and capital markets. Senegal’s Minister of the Economy, Planning and Cooperation, H.E. Abdourahmane Sarr, is among the high-level speakers confirmed.
Recent developments on the BRVM include the listing of the Banque Internationale pour l’Industrie et le Commerce du Bénin (BIIC), the introduction of derivatives and exchange-traded funds (ETFs), and the issuance of five green bonds that collectively raised close to CFA 170 billion. The exchange is also expanding cross-border reach through its participation in the African Exchanges Linkage Project (AELP).
West African Development Bank (BOAD) President Serge Ekue will deliver institutional remarks at the opening. The event is organised by AZ Media PR Ltd and supported by BOAD as gold sponsor.
