The exercise will afford the opportunity for persons who turned 18 after the last registration exercise and first time voters to register to vote in the November election.
At the Wolei polling station in Sakumono village, in Tema West only 30 persons had been registered and duly issued registration cards with few others in a queue as at 0100 hours
Madam Regina Ghlorezi, a Registration Officer at the polling station, told the GNA that, registration commenced at about 0740 hours and only a hand full of prospective registrants were available to register.
She said they had not encountered challenges with their equipment.
She expressed hope that, turn out will increase in the coming days as people are likely to show up at the eleventh hour.
She noted that, in the coming week, the registration team will move to the Dzata-Gon polling station for the second phase of the exercise.
At the Valco Electoral Area polling station in Community 12, Tema Central, Madam Felicia Asare, Presiding Officer told the GNA that twenty people had registered as at 1100 hours.
