Victor Moses In Transfer Speculation
Tue, 21/08/2012 ? 3:30am | AGENCY REPORTS Football Sports

Time is supposedly running out for Nigerian Victor Moses as there are just 11 days left in the transfer window. Anytime he touched the ball on Sunday in Wigan?s clash against Chelsea, he was serenaded by a song from the travelling Chelsea fans ? ?We?ll see you next week? and that may have thrilled and saddened the Wigan wide man.

His purported transfer to the European champions has been dragged on all summer and is nowhere near conclusion but his manager at Wigan, Roberto Martinez believes that the transfer market should close as soon as the season starts to help players fully concentrate on their work and not on speculations.

The Nigerian striker has decided to renew his contract and Wigan have consequently slapped a ?10 million on him which Chelsea have failed to meet with two bids.

?I don?t think that?s an issue at all. We haven?t got that decision to make,? Martinez said on skysports.com. There are no offers on the table matching his valuation so it?s a very easy answer. Unfortunately you?ve got the window open while the games are going on. I think the authorities should look into it, I think it?s very unfair for the human side of the footballer. We should just close the window before the games start. It?s disrespectful to the fans and to the game itself,? he concluded.

Martinez also added that he had spoken to Moses about attracting such attention. ?For Victor it?s been an exciting summer,? said Martinez.

?I spoke with him and told him he should be very proud, as a footballer at 21, to get the interest he has had. It?s something to be happy and extremely proud about and is a football compliment. But, if you don?t meet a valuation, it becomes paper talk and speculation. He is a young man and he knows what he did from December to the end of the season was a great level of performance.

So there it is ? whether mere speculations will turn to reality in the coming 11 days remains to be seen but Wigan really want to keep their man.

?He can take it on to the next level and I am very excited to have Victor [Moses] at Wigan, and I hope we can keep him for many years to come,? the Wigan gaffer added.
