The Ghana Fixed Income Market (GFIM) recorded total activity of 1,520,630,890 securities across 433 trades on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, with sell/buy-back transactions on Government of Ghana (GoG) notes and bonds accounting for the largest share of the day’s volume.
Sell/buy-back trades on GoG notes and bonds totalled 767,868,551 securities across 36 transactions, making them the dominant segment of the session. Treasury bills came second with 536,920,850 securities traded across 366 transactions, reflecting strong secondary market activity in short-term government paper. New GoG notes and bonds recorded 215,274,475 securities across 27 trades, while old GoG notes and bonds contributed 547,188 securities in 3 trades. A single corporate bond trade of 19,826 securities rounded out the day’s activity.
Among new GoG notes and bonds, the 2023-GC-1 series (GOG-BD-16/02/27) dominated by volume with 152,399,604 securities changing hands across five trades at a closing yield of 10.19 percent, down from an opening yield of 10.39 percent. The 2023-A-1 bond (GOG-BD-17/08/27) was also active, recording 53,784,410 securities across 18 trades with a closing yield of 10.41 percent. For old GoG bonds, the 7-year series maturing November 2027 (GOG-BD-08/11/27) was the sole traded instrument, with 500,795 securities transacted at a closing yield of 20.43 percent.
In the treasury bills segment, the 182-day bill maturing July 20, 2026 led all bill activity with 211,666,398 securities across 18 trades, closing at a price of 96.09. The 364-day bill maturing July 27, 2026 followed with 51,137,054 securities in five trades closing at 96.92, while the 364-day bill maturing February 15, 2027 recorded 68,573,394 securities across four trades.
On the sell/buy-back segment, the 2023-GC-6 bond (GOG-BD-10/02/32) was the most actively traded instrument, recording 718,191,249 securities across 14 transactions at a yield of 13.35 percent and a weighted average closing price of 82.98. The 2023-GC-5 bond (GOG-BD-11/02/31) added 37,150,255 securities in 16 trades at a yield of 11.99 percent.
The sole corporate bond trade of the session involved the Ghana Cocoa Board (CMB) bond maturing August 31, 2026 (CMB-BD-31/08/26), with 19,826 securities traded in a single transaction at a closing price of 99.98.
