Some faceless thugs within the Effia-Kwesimintsim Constituency in the Western Region have started defacing posters of the parliamentary aspirant of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) for the area, Maxwell Okyere Ahenkorah
In a press release issued and jointly signed by Mr Holly Sackey, Western Regional Director of Communications, and Mr Maxwell Okyere Ahenkorah, parliamentary aspirant of the PPP for the Effia-Kwesimintsim Constituency in the Western Region, the PPP said the party is a peace loving one and will therefore continue to preach against any act that has the possibility of breeding misunderstanding or disagreement.
“The fact that we belong to different political parties does not mean we have to be enemies. Therefore, let us all strive to maintain the peace we are enjoying in the nation now,” the statement added.
The party therefore appealed to pastors and all religious leaders to educate their members who go about pasting their event posters for them on the dangers associated with any of such act.
“We are also imploring our friends in other political parties to desist from such an unhealthy act so as to create a peaceful and an enabling environment for all of us to operate,” the statement said.
It said Mr Ahenkora is resolute in his bid to redeem the Effia-Kwesimintsim Constituency from its multi-faceted problems and for that matter, no amount of rough tactics employed by faceless thugs will derail his good spirit.
“The massive support given to us by the good people of Effia-Kwesimintsim Constituency is enough motivation for us not to quit,” it added.
