Policy think-tank, IMANI Ghana, is advocating for a review of the Single Spine Salary Structure (SSSS).
The Executive Director of IMANI Ghana, Franklyn Cudjoe, made the call on theCiti Breakfast Showyesterday, indicating that it was one of the top five issues the new government must consider with immediate effect.
According to him, the salaries of workers must correspond with their level of productivity rather than their educational background.
?Productivity here, will mean that you do proper work; productive work, that is why you call it productivity and then you get paid.?
?It is not a matter of just doing equal work; In fact the whole concept of single spine is to pay people the same because you and I have the same degree. Simply because you and I have the same degree, according to the gospel of single spine you and I should be paid the same. It doesn?t work that way,? he said.?Citifmonline.com
