The Eastern Regional Minister, Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey, has assured residents of the region that the government’s developmental agenda will ensure the completion of all ongoing projects initiated by the previous administration while pursuing new initiatives.
Speaking at a commissioning ceremony in Koforidua, New Juaben South Municipality, the Minister emphasized that governance is continuous and stressed that unlike past administrations, the current government recognizes the importance of sustaining development. She noted that no project will be allowed to go to waste in the region or across the country.
She reiterated the government’s commitment to its Big Push initiative and the 24-Hour Economy policy, highlighting priority investments in road construction, hospitals, educational facilities, and market infrastructure.
The projects commissioned included a two-unit police kindergarten block, a six-unit classroom block, a borehole water supply for the municipal fire service station, and the newly constructed Koforidua Zongo Market.
At the commissioning of the Zongo Market, the Municipal Chief Executive for New Juaben South, Hon. Ransford Owusu Boakye, commended the project, noting that it would ease congestion at the central business market and promote equitable distribution of development across the municipality. He further assured that the government will complete the ongoing Zongo road projects to improve access to the market and boost the local economy.
