As part of efforts to build a vibrant party with its presence strongly felt at the grassroots, the leadership of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) yesterday opened a new party office at the Tarkwa Nsuaem Constituency in the Western Region.
The opening of the PPP office in Tarkwa-Nsuaem constituency was done by the National Secretary, Kofi Asamoah-Siaw, who was assisted by the party’s parliamentary candidate for Mporhor Wassa West, Mrs Mary Ankomah Boakye-Boateng.
Addressing party members after the official opening of the office, Mr Asamoah-Siaw urged the constituency executives to work with a sense of urgency to ensure that the PPP wins the seat.
He also advised them to campaign on issues using the party’s political platform and refrain from the politics of insults.
According to the PPP national secretary, the leadership of the party has stepped up its efforts to ensure that the party wins more parliamentary seats in the 2012 parliamentary elections.
For her part, the PPP parliamentary candidate for Tarkwa-Nsuaem, Mrs Mary Ankomah Boakye-Boateng, gave the assurance that she, together with her constituency executives, are poised to win the seat.
She also used the platform to encourage party members in the constituency to canvass for more support for the party.
“…We need to go out there and canvass for more support for our party [the PPP] to ensure that we win the 2012 general elections,” Mrs Ankomah Boakye-Boateng urged.
