The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has chosen?October 29, 2014 and December 6, 2014?for its Governorship and Presidential primaries respectively ahead of the 2015 general elections, party spokesman, Chief Olisa Metuh told journalists Wednesday in Abuja.
Metuh also announced that primaries for National Assembly aspirants would be conducted on?November 22, while the sale of nomination and expression of interest forms for all positions has been slated for?October 27 and 28.
The spokesman disclosed that the dates were proposed by the party?s National Working Committee (NWC) during a meeting last night which had President Goodluck Jonathan in attendance, but added that the dates have to be ratified and approved by the party?s National Executive Committee (NEC)?on Thursday?when it meets at the National Secretariat of the PDP in Abuja.
All public servants and government appointees seeking elective offices are expected to resign from their positions latest?October 20, 2014, he added.
