Nestlé, a leading nutrition, health and wellness company in the world, has launched a new product dubbed NIDO Nutripak onto the Ghanaian market.

NIDO Nutripak, which would improve consumers’ diet, comes in small packs.

The newly-launched NIDO Nutripak is available in 14 grams display sizes to support consumers who prefer small packs of the NIDO products to the larger ones.

Nestle Ghana, with the launch of the new NIDO Nutripak, is leveraging consumer insight for new products.

The new product contains iron and vitamin formulated to meet the nutritional needs of children.

The product is made with skimmed milk powder, palm oil, sucrose, ant caking agent and calcium carbonate.

Other components are emulsifier, soya lecithin, vitamins and ferric pyrophosphate needed to improve the necessary elements for body building.

Speaking at the launch of NIDO Nutripak in Accra, Country Manager, Nestle Ghana Limited, Moataz El-Hout said the new pack would meet the needs of all consumers.

He stressed the need for entrepreneurs to pay attention to the needs of customers.

“The introduction of the new brand is in line with customer’s request.”

He said Nestle Ghana was planning to establish a world-class retail structure in the country in order to assist people to have an easy access to the product.”

“Today’s launch signifies the strong commitment from the partners from Nestle.

Mr. El-Hout indicated that currently Nestle has 30 million consumers across 80 countries.

Victor Wireko, National Sales Manager, on his part, noted that with the launch of NIDO essentials and ideal delight, Nestle would gain 20 points of market share in two years’ time.

Christian Abboud, Business Executive Manager, NIDO said that it was important for children to have access to nutritional foods and expressed worry over the fact that 78 per cent of children were suffering from iron deficiency due to lack of proper diet.

Brand Manager, Nestle Ghana, James Sarfo said the new affordable pack would be available at all retailing shops from Monday June 4.

Cecilia Faakye of EOCEY Company Limited cut the tape to launch the new pack of the NIDO Nutripak.

Nestlé Ghana Limited started business in Ghana in 1957 under the trade name Nestlé Products Ghana Limited and imported Nestlé products such as milk and chocolates.

In 1968, it was incorporated as Food Specialties Ghana Limited to manufacture and market locally well known Nestlé brands. The company became known as Nestlé Ghana Limited in 1987.

In 1971 the production of the IDEAL Milk and MILO started at the Tema Factory, which has been developing products such as Carnation Milks, Chocolim, Chocomilo Cerevita, Cerelac and Nescafé 3 in 1.

Nestlé Ghana also imports and distributes brands such as NIDO Milk Powder, LACTOGEN Infant Formula, NAN Infant Formula, NESCAFE Soluble Coffee and MAGGI Bouillon’s and Cold Sauces.
