MTN Ghana has introduced MTN Ads, a digital advertising solution leveraging its subscriber base to target consumers across SMS, display, and audio channels.

Chief Digital Officer Ibrahim Misto unveiled the platform at the 2025 Gong-Gong Awards in Accra, positioning it as a tool for precision audience engagement.

“MTN Ads eliminates guesswork by connecting brands with the right customers at optimal moments,” stated Misto, citing the telco’s 28 million subscribers as a behavioral data source. The service aims to transform the company’s role from connectivity provider to marketing partner, offering granular audience segmentation unavailable through traditional advertising channels.

Available immediately to Ghanaian businesses and agencies, the platform emphasizes performance-focused campaigns through automated channel selection. Misto framed the launch within broader industry shifts toward collaborative marketing ecosystems where “brands, creatives and technologists converge.”

This move signals MTN’s strategic expansion into enterprise digital services amid declining voice revenue industry-wide, reflecting how telecom operators increasingly monetize subscriber insights through B2B offerings while navigating data privacy regulations.
