Five police officers and two civilians were wounded in the attack

The Emir of Fika in Yobe State, Mohammed Idris, on Friday, escaped an attack by a suicide bomber at the Potiskum Central Mosque.
Toyin Gbadegesin, the state?s piolice spokesperson, said the bomber tried to get close to the emir after the Friday prayers, but was prevented by a police officer.
He said that as the bomber was making frantic moves to push himself through the crowd to reach the emir, a police officer suspected his movement and pushed him down.
In the process, one of the concealed explosives detonated and killed the bomber, while five police officers and two civilians sustained injuries.
The emir was unhurt.
Gbadegesin said that the police anti-bomb squad, thereafter, defused some other explosives carried by the bomber.
