Hearts Goalie Mccarthy Hanging On Onto Black Stars Dream
Hearts goalkeeper Philemon McCarthy has not given up hopes of playing for the Black Stars again.
McCarthy, 22, has not been considered for selection since the 2010 African Cup of Nations.
The former Feyernord shot-stopper has just returned to the Hearts team after he was sidelined for six months following a finger injury.
He has so far struggled to dislodge current number one Tetteh Luggard but remains confident about his chances of returning to the national team.
?I am glad to be back. It has been a painful six months for me. If I get the chance to play, I believe I can stake a claim for a national team call-up,? McCarthy said
?The national team belongs to all of us and so I believe if you are doing well, the coach cannot ignore you.
?I still have dreams of playing for the Black Stars. I also want to contribute my quota to the success of the team.?
McCarthy must work hard to dislodge Luggard before he could be considered for national team duty.
