President John Dramani Mahama today kicks off the third edition of the Kwahu Business Forum, a flagship business summit that will culminate in a presidential dinner bringing together Ghana’s top entrepreneurs, investors, and private sector leaders.

The forum, which is the brainchild of President Mahama and Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, opened on Friday, April 3, 2026, with expectations that this year’s edition will witness the biggest gathering of successful indigenous entrepreneurs, business executives, policymakers, investors, and start-up founders yet.

Held under the theme “The Future of Business: The Role of the Financial Sector,” the two-day event will be graced by President Mahama, Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, and the Governor of the Bank of Ghana (BoG), Dr Johnson Pandit Asiama.

Friday’s programme will feature an official opening ceremony with President Mahama delivering the Guest of Honour address, a tour of the exhibition centre, high-level panel discussions, and masterclasses on various business topics, with the day culminating in the presidential dinner.

On Saturday, industry leaders will deliver keynote addresses with President Mahama present, followed by a special address from the BoG Governor on the economy and direct engagement with business leaders. The event will close with a health walk at the Kwahu Business Village.

The 2026 edition will feature trade exhibitions, with over 200 businesses already registered, policy dialogues, panel discussions, and entrepreneurial success stories, and is expected to draw more than 1,000 participants in total.

The forum traces its origins to the inaugural 2024 edition, which brought together businesspeople from the Kwahu area to examine the national business landscape. The 2025 edition was expanded following a presidential directive to bring all banks to the table to address concerns around access to capital that emerged from the maiden event.

The expansion of the forum into a prominent national event reflects Chief of Staff Debrah’s growing role in shaping Ghana’s push for private sector-led growth, with the Kwahu Business Village now serving as a permanent hub for business conferences and related activities.
