The school appoints Nweke as the new director of executive education | By Eki Toju

The Lagos Business School (LBS), which was recently ranked the second best business school in Africa has appointed Mrs Chioma Nweke as its new Director of Executive Education.
According to a release made available to Daily Times, Nweke’s appointment, which takes effect from May 2012 is in line with the school’s efforts to shape the practice of management across Nigeria and Africa as she is to lead the marketing and executive education arm of the School.
Nweke who holds an MBA from IESE Business School, Barcelona is deemed appropriate for the job considering her wealth of experience (local and international), spanning over 22 years, in general management, marketing and customer service management.
She joined LBS from Samsung where she was director, IT Solutions Division. Prior to that, she was the Telco country manager for Hewlett Packard (HP) covering the African region.
Speaking on her appointment, Head of Finance and Administration at LBS, Mr Charles Ivenso said, the Executive Education department requires someone with her breadth of experience to achieve the level of impact LBS wants to make in management education.
The Financial Times of London reccently ranked LBS the 54th global provider of open enrolment executive education. The School which provides management education relevant to emerging markets expressed its belief that with a strong marketing orientation and a disciplined approach to market engagement, Nweke’s appointment will help in positioning LBS for a stronger global presence.
