Before the adjournment of the business of the House to (today) Wednesday, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Uwajumogu, while calling for a minute silent in honour of the fallen Lawmaker, asserted that the House received the sudden demise of Hon. Igwe with a rude shock, adding that in conformity with the rules of the House, the plenary would be suspended as a mark of respect for their late colleague.

Leading a delegation of his colleagues to the residence of the late lawmaker in owerri, the Speaker further lamented that the state House of Assembly, the Ideato nation and the state in general have lost a rare gem, whose legendary contributions to the positive development of the state and her citizens would be greatly missed by all and sundry.

He stated that the milk of human kindness and philanthropy exhibited by Okwesilieze through her various non-governmental organizations have endeared her to the hearts of the people of the state, especially the less privileged and the women folk, many of whom he said greatly depended on her God-given talent to make ends meet.

While describing the late Eudora Igwe as an unassuming politician and an astute legislator per excellence, the Speaker called on her husband, Chief Igwe and her entire family, as well as her constituents to take solace in the fact that the lawmaker lived an impactful life during her sojourn on earth, praying that God would give them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
