Following a video released by the leader of the Boko Haram sect, that it has declared Gwoza Town a part of an Islamic Caliphate and on the other hand, the many denials by the federal government of the claim, the #BringBackOurGirls Group has called on the government to stop its denial and tell Nigerians the true situation of what is happening in the country.
Recall that the Nigerian military refuted the claim by the sect, saying in a statement that the ?sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Nigerian state is still intact?.
Also, the Nigerian Defence spokesman, Chris Olukolade was quoted to have said, ?Any group of terrorists laying claim to any portion of the country will not be allowed to get away with that expression of delusion and crime.?
The BBOG Group stated that the many reports about the insurgency were becoming overwhelming and called on the government to stop denying the facts and come up with a viable means of quashing terrorism in the country.
It also emphasised the need for the government to provide for the many Nigerians displaced and otherwise affected by the insurgency in the North East.
The group reiterated its resolve to continue its advocacy saying come rain come shine, it would carry on with its campaign for the rescue and safe return of the abducted Chibok schoolgirls to their parents.
