Ghanaian professional boxer Wasiru Mohammed, known in the sport as “Gyata Bi,” has signed a co-management and promotional deal with USA and Ghana-based Bishop Boxing Promotions, as the former World Boxing Organization (WBO) Global Bantamweight champion positions himself for a serious assault on the super featherweight division.

The agreement was announced on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, and sees promoter Dave Bishop join forces with long-standing manager John Marfo in a co-management structure. Mohammed’s technical team remains unchanged, with coach Larteykwei Lartey and the Fit Square Gym retaining their roles in his corner.

Mohammed, who holds his only professional defeat against South Africa’s Kaine Fourie, has since moved up in weight and is campaigning at super featherweight, a division where he has publicly declared himself available to any champion willing to face him.

The signing builds on a period of renewed momentum for Mohammed, who ended a lengthy absence from the ring with a stoppage win at the Bukom Boxing Arena in 2023 and is scheduled to appear on Bishop Boxing Promotions’ Best of Bukom 3 card on May 8, 2026, at the same venue, where he will face Charles Tetteh of the Panix Gym.

Bishop Boxing Promotions, which has established itself as one of the more active promotional outfits bridging Ghana and the United States market, gives Mohammed a structured platform as he seeks to rebuild toward championship contention at his new weight class.
