GCB has hosted the last draw of the “Western Union Home Maker Over” promotion at the GCB Tower at Kwame Nkrumah Circle in Accra.
The promo ran from 1st to 30th April, and all patrons who received remittances through Western Union (WU) locations were potential winners.
Three promotions are organised in a year. These are the “Back -To -School,” “Easter Home Maker” and “End of Year” promotions. WU has 1,300 locations and agencies all over the world and it rewarded over 100 customers locally through this promo.
Ms. Leticia Tagoe, Head of the International Banking Division of the Bank who welcomed the guests, customers and patrons of WU, said GCB is proud to be the one hosting this event because it is barely six months since the Bank went into partnership with WU to enable patrons receive remittances from their loved ones abroad.
According to her, GCB’s good customer service and nation-wide branch network coupled with steady growth in remittances influenced the decision to offer GCB the opportunity to host the draw.
Ghana was divided into the Northern Sector comprising Upper East, Upper West, Northern, Brong Ahafo and Ashanti Regions, while the Southern Sector was made up of Greater Accra, Eastern, Western and Central Regions for the purposes of the draw.
Patrons who were declared winners took home various prizes including 32-inch LCD flat screens, home theatres, microwaves, table-top fridges and mobile phones.
The promo rewarded 142 patriots from Banks nation-wide, including 10 GCB customers. The first draw witnessed eight winners from earlier draws. They received their prizes during the last draw. Two of the winners from the current draw will be presented with their prizes at a later date.
Miss Jacklyn Prempeh and Mr. Theophilus Cobbinah from Jubilee House and Kaneshie Industrial branches of GCB won for themselves an LCD Flat Screen each and expressed their joy at winning such a prize by just patronising GCB WU. The remaining six won mobile phones, which will be sent to their various branches because they were not present.
The two encouraged the general public to receive their WU remittances from GCB because GCB provides better services for patrons of WU.
