The Ashanti North Regional Police Command has arrested four suspects and seized 350 slabs of substances suspected to be narcotics in an operation in the Offinso area, the latest in a series of anti-drug operations being conducted across the country.

The Ghana Police Service confirmed the arrests as part of ongoing efforts to clamp down on the trafficking and distribution of illicit substances in communities across the region.

The four suspects are currently in police custody assisting with investigations. Authorities have not yet disclosed the identities of the suspects or the precise location within the Offinso area where the operation was carried out, citing operational security considerations.

Samples of the seized substances are expected to be forwarded to the Forensic Crime Laboratory for testing and confirmation. The suspects are expected to be arraigned before court following the completion of initial investigations.

The bust comes as the Ghana Police Service intensifies operations against narcotics trafficking across the country. In recent months, regional commands have recorded several significant seizures, including operations in the Tema, Oti, and Ashanti South regions that collectively yielded thousands of slabs and parcels of suspected cannabis and other controlled substances.

The Ashanti North Regional Police Command has urged residents with information on drug-related activity in their communities to report to the nearest police station or call the police emergency number to assist the Service in its operations.
