According to TESCON, The president of the republic, John Dramani Mahama, promised the people of Ghana during the 2012 election campaign that, the ongoing energy crisis was going to end early 2013, but the crisis rather worsened in 2013 and 2014.

The group noted that the situation is affecting studies of students at various institutions and criminal activities have been on the rise. “Evening students finds it difficult to attend lectures all because of blackouts in the country. Robbery attacks on students has been rampant. We also sympathise with employers and business men who are also wallowing in this doom of ‘Dumsor’, ‘Dum’, ‘Dum’!”

Tertiary students confederacy of New patriotic party (TESCON) Kumasi Polytechnic Chapter wish to draw the attention of students in Ghana and Ashanti Region in particular about the unbearable power crisis in our beloved country.

As a matter of fact, education is the key to the success of every country, but one will wonder why there has been frequent blackouts for the past 7 years with flimzy excuses from NDC government which has the capacity of thwarting the educational system in Ghana.

The president of the republic, John Dramani Mahama, promised the people of Ghana during the 2012 election campaign that, the ongoing energy crisis was going to end early 2013.

However, the crisis rather worsened in 2013 and 2014. President Mahama once again made an emphatic promise on the 31st December, 2014 that he will banish ‘Dumsor’, ‘Dumsor’ in 2015.

Surprisingly, the ‘Dumsor’, ‘Dumsor’ has now metamorphosise to ‘Dum’,’Dum’ in this new year. TESCON Kumasi Polytechnic is wondering whether God has turn his anger on Ghana due to the numerous lies by the president, John Dramani Mahama.

The saddest part of this uncheritable situation is that, it has affected the studies of students at various institutions and criminal activities has been on the rise. Evening students finds it difficult to attend lectures all because of blackouts in the country. Robbery attacks on students has been rampant. We also sympathise with employers and business men who are also wallowing in this doom of ‘Dumsor’, ‘Dum’, ‘Dum’!

Recently, Madagascar prime minister, Roger Kolo resign as prime minister for just two years in office as a result of energy crisis (‘Dumsor’, ‘Dumsor’) in the country.

Therefore, TESCON Kumasi Polytechnic is calling on president John Dramani Mahama to resign immediately.
