THE PROPRIETRESS of Emmanuel Restoration Complex of Schools at Abelemkpe in the Greater Accra region Cecilia Campbell has called on teachers, parents and adults not to downplay the intelligence of their children.

According to Mrs. Campbell, children were not ignorant, rather they were innocent beings who had a lot to contribute to building the society.

The proprietress gave the advice in a speech she presented at a family meeting of parents and pupils of HELGHA International School at Adenta.

She reminded the parents that children were the future of every community and for which reason society expected adults to train them well in order to secure their future.

The proprietress further noted that parents could build confidence in their children by forming healthy relationships with them. She added parents should make sure that the needs of their wards are met and must make time to share ideas with them. When this is done, the children will uphold the values they have acquired when they grow up.

The headmaster of the school, Hillary Ewusie urged parents to be wary of the comments they make when children are around as negative comments turn to impact negatively on them.
