The future of Deltans depends on the electorates (voters) from the twenty five Local Governments of the State. I urge the Delta State electorates to vote wisely and vote their conscience at the Governorship election on February 28, 2015. We know that the Governorship election is one means by which any political party nominates candidate for Governorship. The voting of a Governor that reflects the wishes of Deltans through the electorates at the general election shall surely guarantees good governance. This will obviously produce good leadership under a visionary leader who understands when and how to pursue and actualize such a vision through the formulation of good policies that would benefit the entire Deltans. The Governorship election should be carried out in transparent manner to reflect the wishes and aspiration of Deltans. It should serve as a conduct for collective and good leadership for Deltans.
If Delta State wishes to develop socially and economically, the State must take the bull by the horn by venting or imprinting their mandate on a Governor with a sound leadership style. As noted, good leadership requires intelligence, accountability, experience, good understanding of the masses, and knowledge of the environment, obedience, humility, wisdom and the fear of God. Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa posses the above leadership qualities; and I pray that the Senator should be voted as the Governor of Delta State in order to achieve social and economic developments in the State. The challenges of peace in the State, poverty reduction, job creation for our graduates and infrastructural development among other issues are some of the Senator?s top priorities. Without a doubt, Deltans shall benefit from the Senator?s administration as the next Governor of Delta State.
The electorates should note that the Senator?s desire to become the next Governor of the State was borne out of passion for service and the realization that he has a lot to offer Deltans based on his deep experience in governance. Additionally, the Senator?s desire was equally borne out from the need to meet people?s demands, which the Senator described as significant. The Senator appealed to the electorates and all Deltans to consider competence above other considerations.
I advise that the electorates devoid from mortgaging their future, the future of their families, the future of their communities, the future of their Local Governments and the future of Deltans by making their votes a mercantile affair. In addition, the electorates are advised to always use their votes wisely as their votes are not for sale. A vote for Senator Okowa is a vote for social, economic and political freedom, it a vote for unity, it a vote for peace and a vote for development in the State. Do not sell your conscience and the future of your children and Delta state for a temporary hunger or for peanut.
I sincerely urge the electorates not to make a bad choice due to financial gain as the Senator is the best candidate out there; he is the most competent, the most vibrant and the most prominent among other candidates – Chief Great Ovedje Ogboru of the Labor Party (LP) and Mr. Olorogun O?tega Emerhor of the All Progressive Congress (APC). The way forward for Delta State is to pick a candidate for Governor on the Election Day and that is no other candidate than the Senator. I pray that the electorates think big and wise by voting Senator Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa as the Delta State next Governor. Additionally, since majority of Deltans have made up their mind and their choice is Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, I wish the Senator God Blessing and God Protection to serve the State as Governor 2015 and beyond.
I also encourage the electorates to vote wisely and vote their conscience because their votes mean a brighter future (2015 and beyond) for Deltans. Most importantly, I urge the party members to communicate this vital message to Deltans; at wards level, communities and Local Governments. The electorates should note that the future belongs to those who see possibilities before they become obvious ? there are possibilities of success (peace in the State, poverty reduction, job creation for our graduates and infrastructural development among other development issues) for Deltans when the Senator becomes the Governor of the State. Finally, I urge Deltans to support Senator Okowa to the core: campaigning for him on his behalf (Grassroots campaign: door-to-door campaign, neighbor-to-neighbor campaign, pool office campaign, market place campaign, beer parlor campaign, Ward campaign and Local Government campaign, among others to ensure success in this year?s general elections) and campaigning with distinguished Senator across Delta State. Deltans should vote en masse for the Senator come February 28, 2015 general election so that the Senator could get the over two million votes in Delta State.
