The newly appointed Chairman of Delta State Local Government Service Commission, Comrade (Dr.) Olumami Oyibo has given a directive that all the postings made by the commission since the dissolution of the Chief (Mrs.) Nkem Okwuofu-led Commission by the Delta State Government should be reverted within one week.
Oyibo gave the directive yesterday shortly after taking over the mantle of leadership from the Secretary of the Commission, Dr. Philip Agbeyeke who presided over the affairs of the commission before it was reconstituted by the state government.
He said a circular letter reverting all the postings that were made between the time the Chief (Mrs.) Nkem Okwuofu- led Commission was dissolved and the time that the commission was reconstituted by the state government should reach all the Heads of Personnel Management (HPMs) in the 25 local government councils in the state as quickly as possible.
?By the time we have fully settled down, we shall, together with the Secretary and directors in the Commission, examine all the issues relating to posting of staff?, he said, even as he applauded the Secretary of the Commission, Dr. Agbeyeke for successfully piloting the affairs of the commission before it was reconstituted.
?We are here to serve our people and we should serve them effectively well?, the Commission boss said while urging management staff in the Commission to adopt the policy of ensuring that files brought to their desk were treated as quickly as possible without any delay, just as he promised to carry everybody along in the scheme of things.
Earlier in his address during the ceremony, the Secretary of the Commission, Dr. Agbeyeke who congratulated the Chairman and members of the newly inaugurated Commission on their appointment, briefed them on the activities of the Commission where he disclosed that the Commission has a total staff strength of 13,632 made up of 8,986 senior staff and 4,648 junior staff as at Tuesday, November 11, 2014.
While wishing the Chairman and members of the Commission a successful tenure in office, he assured them of the support and loyalty of staff in the Commission.
