Tomorrow, Saturday 18 October the NGO Amnesty International will present the film Mati?re Grise (Rurorahoza Kivu, Rwanda / Australia, 2011) within the African Film Festival-FCAT C?rdoba to mark the 20th anniversary Rwandan genocide.

The film, which won the award for Best Director at the 2012 FCAT, set in Kigali, capital of Rwanda, follows the futile attempts of a filmmaker looking for funding for his first film, The Cycle of the Cockroach, a disturbing drama about a brother and sister after the genocide. The government refuses to finance the film, but Balthazar, the director, does not have the bad news to the team and move forward with preparations. Mati?re Grise is one of the first feature films made in Rwanda.
