A programme to train young women in software development and entrepreneurship is to be launched on September 25, 2017.
Dubbed “Young Women in Programming” it is set up to empower more women at the tertiary level to develop interest in programming and software to solve critical problems of society and also help them to expand and grow their businesses.
The programme set up by Roxanne Mawunyo Akorley, a second year student of the University of Ghana Business School, Legon also aims to train more women to develop mobile applications and to address the challenges women face in the male dominated industry that is, Computer Programming and Software Development.
