The Guantuahen of Agona Swedru in the Central Region, Nana Oduro Kwarteng has expressed the readiness of traditional rulers to work with any political party that is voted into power.
With this, he has advised traditional rulers to disassociate themselves from engaging in any political activity, including campaigning for any political party, irrespective of the fact that they also vote to exercise their franchise.
Nana Oduro Kwarteng gave this advice when he addressed the Chiefs and people of Gomoa Ekwamkrom during the celebration of their annual Akwambo festival.
According to him, chieftaincy is a revered institution that must be held in high esteem, and he stressed that it is wrong for any traditional ruler to allow him or herself to be used by any politician or politician for any selfish gains.
He later advised the youth to shun any acts of violence before, during, and after the upcoming general elections.
