The former stars captain, who is a peace ambassador, is using football as a tool to sensitize the public about the need for peace ahead of the general elections in Ghana.

Presenting the items, the CEO of Adidas, Valerie Fontanier-Ghajar said Adidas was happy to partner primeval to sponsor “such an initiative to promote peace before, during and after the elections.
Stephen Appiah, who will be captaining the Appiah World XI team, expressed his appreciation to have such a giant in sportswear to kit the teams.
“As some of us have stopped playing for a while now we are going to have the opportunity to have a feel of a quality ball like the adidas again. Adidas is one of the big brands when it comes to sportswear brands, we are going to respect it and play to win.”
Laryea Kingston, who will feature for the World XI, also shared his opinion about Adidas saying “for me I feel comfortable when playing in Adidas boots, I have been sponsored by Adidas before and I am so happy I will be wearing it again, he noted.
Former Black Stars player Yaw Preko said “it is an honour to have such a giant to kit the players, it is not easy to have them buy into such an idea and we need to commend them.”
The two matches will be between world XI and Kumasi Asante Kotoko in Kumasi on June 8 and against the Black Stars on June 11 in Accra.
