By Thompson EssienThis is a big lie. Godswill Akpabio really believes that Akwa Ibom people are stupid. What he does not say is how much money he paid those young men to submit themselves for arrest and to falsely claim that they were the ones who were involved in the crime. In a very short time, nothing would be heard about this matter and those young innocent men will be released; it has happened before.
This type of deceptive strategy designed to confuse the public on who actually ordered the killing of Chief Albert Ukpanah has happened before. It happened in the case of the Ekpenyong brothers; it happened in the case of Chief Paul Inyang; it happened in the case of Edidem Obot, as well as in all the other politically motivated unsolved cases of assassinations in Akwa Ibom State.
If Godswill Akpabio wants total vindication, then he should charge those men to an open court of competent jurisdiction where the case would be tried and all the evidence presented. Alternatively, he should arrange for the media to interview those boys, while in detention, so that the public can have the choice of deciding if they were in fact the very ones who committed the crime.
Unless and until such conditions are met, I stand firm on my convictions that the assassination of Chief Ukpanah? and the attempt on the life of Sunny Udom is not unconnected with the political ambition of Godswill Akpabio to become the next Senator representing Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District, especially when one considers that the two men (Ukpanah and Udom) are from Abak area in which many are opposed to the ambition of Akpabio. The two? men were known to be very vocal against the ambition of Akpabio.
Say no to imposition. Akpabio must be probed!
