There is so much to do and see at Javea which is a northern holiday town in Costa Blanca. Javea is sometimes known as Xabia which is located mid of Valencia and Alicante. This holiday resort is blessed with Montgo mountains along with a wonderful legend of an elephant turning into a rock to protect the town. Javea draws many types of visitors to its shores during peak seasons as most of its natural beauty has been retained with the controlled high rise constructions which prevailed in other Costa Blanca cities like Benidorm.

The small fine sand beaches at Javea are great crowd pullers with many water sports and facilities available. Javea offers 3 primary sections of visit; Javea Pueblo which is the quaint old town section; Javea Puerto which is the town harbor and Playa de Arenal which is the beach front.

Javea Pueblo offers attractive sights of the town’s narrow roads lined with brightly painted white buildings which make it a delightful spot for a leisurely stroll in the evening.

Along the way, one would sight San Bartolome, an impressively ancient 13th century Gothic church and the local market that is abuzz with sales of regional produce which includes fresh fruit, fish and vegetables. There are many traditional Spanish bars in this old town section offering delicious tapas.

Javea Puerto functions as an active harbor with plenty of luxury cruisers moored beside local fishing trawlers. This is where the popular Javea Marina is located with a plethora of bars and restaurants lining up the quayside.

Many tourists frequent this spot to view some spectacular panorama over the bay. Boat tours are popular to enjoy the picturesque vistas around Cabo de San Antonio and Denia especially during peak seasons.

Beach attractions

The beach is very well maintained in terms of cleanliness with great water sports facilities with volleyball and children’s games frequently seen on the beach. The clear Mediterranean encourages water sports activities like sub aqua diving with the availability of diving lessons. Excursions, hiking and strolls are also popular with tourists in Javea.
