62-year-old Dutch gamble wizard Louis van Gaal has shifted his focus to England to start his three-year contract at Old Trafford where he’s seeking to create a strong bond within his squad.
Speaking in an interview after winning the bronze medal for Holland the coach said he would be very delightful to see Manchester United replicate the success of the Netherlands at the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
“I hope that the group in Manchester will become like this one. We have to start singing from the same hymn sheet.”
Haven’t lost on penalties after a goaless drawn game against Argentina, Van Gaal became the first Holland coach to go through a World Cup without defeat.
However, he reckon that it will be difficult to do same with United, who finished seventh on the Premiership ladder last year under David Moyes.
“I wasn’t able to do it with Ajax, Bayern Munich or Barcelona,” he said.
“Losing is just part of the job.”
The Dutch coach is poised to bring the good times back to Old Trafford after the club went trophyless last season year under David Moyes.
“I hope at Manchester United I can do my best,” he said.
“I will do my best. Whether that’s enough for the fans I will wait and see but I genuinely hope that will be the case,” van Gaal added.
