Six time Olympic Gold medalist Usain Bolt snapped his first Commonwealth Gold when he led Jamaica to win the 4x100m relay finals at Hampden Park, Glasgow on Saturday.
The towering 27-year-old Bolt has eight world titles to his name but was making his debut Commonwealth Games in Scotland and yet managed to anchor his team in a Games record of 37.58 seconds on a soaked track.
The Jamaican quartets had Jason Livermore, 100m gold medalist Kemar Bailey-Cole, bronze medalist Nickel Ashmeade and the lightning Bolt.
?It means a lot. Commonwealth gold is the only medal missing from my collection,? said Bolt, who did not race the 100 or 200m events after a nagging foot injury forced him out of the Jamaican national championships, which served as a trial for these Games.
?I?m happy to be here and sorry I didn?t manage to run the individual events because the energy out here is wonderful,? Bolt said after the race.
