Abdulkadir Ibrahim, a regional spokesperson for the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) said the program is meant to cover 45,000 households.

The spokesperson added that WFP has been a major partner of Nigeria especially in providing technical support to NEMA in managing disaster across the country.
Official statistics indicated that Nigeria is managing more than 2.1 million IDPs across the country, more than 90 percent of the IDPs were people from the the restive northeast states.
The insurgency in the northeast, which is one of the major challenges confronting the country, has caused a large displacement of people.
