The chiefs and people in the Asante-Akim South District have been urged to unite behind the political leadership to bring development.
Mr. De-graft Fokuo, immediate-past District Chief Executive (DCE) for the area, asked that they gave strong backing to his successor, Mr. Alexander Frimpong, to implement the assembly’s development agenda.
He added that everybody must find space to contribute to the effort at improving the quality of life. He was speaking when Mr. Frimpong called on him at his Ofoase residence during an inspection visit to the town to gauge the felt needs of the people.
The DCE had earlier visited Asuboa and Bompata where he met with the paramount chiefs.
Mr. Fokuo advised that the people overcame division and put the progress of the district ahead of any other consideration.
The expectation was that the man who took over from him would operate an open door policy and that nobody or group – chiefs, assembly members and heads of decentralized department, would be made to feel sidelined.
Mr. Frimpong said he was grateful for the genuine desire to see him succeed and pledged to work in the interest of the people.
He gave assurance that all uncompleted projects would be completed to make things better for all.
