UEW’s Sandwich students matriculated

The University of Education (UEW), has held its 2016/2017 academic year matriculation for sandwich students at the Jophus Anamuah-Mensah Conference Centre at the University's North Campus.

The occasion marked the formal admission of fresh sandwich students into the University to pursue various academic programmes.

In a word, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Mawutor Avoke advised matriculants to keep updating their knowledge on all relevant issues pertaining to their various fields of study.

This year’s enrolment for the sandwich programmes recorded a decline as compared to the 2015/2016 academic year. A total of 1,488 applications were received for this academic year out of which1,152 were offered admission for the 2016/2017 undergraduate programmes.

Also, a total of 690 fresh students registered at the close of registration for the various undergraduate programmes this year, as against 3,122 student who had registered at the close of registration during the 2015/2016 academic season.

The post-graduate programmes for the current 2016/2017 academic season had a total of 698 applications out of which 543 gained admission. About 454 registered at the Winneba campus as against 1,113 who had registered for the same programmes in the 2015/2016 academic year.

In attendance were Professor Richard Tuyee Awuah, Chairman of University Council, Professor Mawutor Avoke the Vice Chancellor, and other senior staff.
