Unrest has continued in the Turkish city of Istanbul as protesters
have refused to leave public parks on the orders of the government.
Clashes between demonstrators and police have been occurring daily
since May 31.
Joint military forces from Sudan and Chad have been deployed along the
borders near the Western Darfur region of Sudan. The aim of the joint
operations is to maintain stability in the affected areas.
South Sudan says it is backing Ethiopia in the latest row between
Addis Ababa and Egypt over the Blue Nile. Ethiopia has announced plans
to reroute a section of the Blue Nile to build a dam for a
hydro-electric power project.
