Thumbs up Fatau Dauda!

I write to register my voice on the recent performance of Ghana?s and Ashantigold shot stopper Fatau Dauda for his exonerating feats in the ongoing 29th edition of Afcon 2013 in South Africa.

The 27-year old and former safest pair of hands for Okwahu United has conceded two goals in four matches in the competition so far.

Dauda?s precision, decision, agility, one-on-one saves, area ability, calmness and composure cannot be written off.

If had not been him, Ghana would have been sent packing from the tournament in the quarter-final clash against Cape Verde when he pulled out important saves to thwart their counterparts from restoring parity.

No wonder he won the man of the match against Cape Verde for his distinguishing performance during the quarter-final.

Again he has not disgrace himself in his maiden appearance in a competition of this sort and gradually winning admiration of fans and accolade as Ghana?s first choice.

Invariably, Dauda must not allow such tags and pluses occupy his mind rather focus, preserve and give his best for the sake of mother Ghana.

I think young and upcoming goalkeepers must look up to Fatau for his exploit but I fear that fans would not see him share such a rich experience on the local front as clubs across the globe might be interested in his signature during and after the championship.
