The need for peace

Your peace my peace!!!

As we journey towards our Election Day, let us ponder over our lives most especially those of us 18 years and above, legal to vote.

At this stage, you are either a worker (self-employed/employed/unemployed) or schooling (in the University, Polytechnic or Vocational institute). Whichever you find yourself, ask this question, do I need peace in my country to achieve any of my dreams or aspirations?

If your response is yes, then be mindful that wherever you are and whatever you say or do before, during or after the Election has an impact on your peace and my peace. Therefore, your being peaceful is someone else’s peace. Why do I say this, take for example, when your neighbour’s house is on fire and you can see and have access to call for help and you just look on, your house could also burn from the spread of the fire. However, if you call for help on his or her behalf, your house will also be saved. In other words, being each other’s keeper is the solution to problems. Likewise, if you want peace, then you need to encourage everyone you meet to be peaceful. For when your neighbour is at peace you will also be at peace. Therefore, do not sit on the fence and watch, but rather, in any small way possible, advocate for peace.

Since your peace is my peace, being peaceful is the responsibility of all!
