Do we respect little things that make a difference or do we only respect the big things? Little things make a big difference! A leader respects this reality that little things do make a big difference. A leader respects little things and those little things make a big difference in his life. The Word of God is replete with examples of little things that make a big difference.
Six Little Things That Make A Big Difference
1. A little faith makes a big difference
?If ye have FAITH AS A GRAIN OF MUSTARD SEED, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.?
Matthew 17:14-20
A little faith can make a big difference in your life.
Faith is important because you can only be saved through faith.
Faith is important because the elders received a good report through faith.
Faith is important because we live by faith.
Faith is important because we walk by faith.
Faith is important because without faith it is impossible to please God.
Amazingly, only a little faith is needed to accomplish great things with God. If you have faith as the smallest mustard seed you can move mountains.
2. The little foxes make a big difference
Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes.
Song of Solomon 2:15
Little foxes speak of little things that can undermine great achievements.
The Little Phone
One day, I met a director of a large wealthy multi-national company. As I interacted with this executive I noticed his free use of his official phone and how other family members and friends could use his company phone to call anywhere in the world.
So I asked him how many directors and other staff members had such phones with such unlimited use. He explained that other directors and several other staff below his rank had such phones and they all had unlimited use of the phone.
He then offered the phone to me and asked if I needed to call anywhere in the world. Indeed, I enjoyed some free long-distance international calls. That day I predicted the collapse of this multi-national company and I was not wrong. A few years later, the entire company collapsed from within. Perhaps, the little phone with its bills was making a big difference.
The Little Bulb
One day, I visited my grandfather and grandmother. I had a nice time. But one day, my grandfather got angry with me, waved his walking stick at me and shouted at me. I wondered what terrible crime I had committed. I was surprised to find out that I had left a few bulbs on. What could be so wrong with leaving some lights on in the corridor? Why was he angry about something so little?
As I grew up, I found out that this ?little thing? of wasting electricity was a characteristic of poor people. Developing countries without much money leave lights on and waste electricity all the time, whilst the rich tend to save electricity.
Leaving lights on and wasting electricity undermines all your efforts to save money and become rich.
3. Little books make a big difference
And the voice which I heard from heaven spake unto me again, and said, Go and take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel which standeth upon the sea and upon the earth.
And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, give me THE LITTLE BOOK.
And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey.
And I took THE LITTLE BOOK out of the angel?s hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter.
And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings.
Revelation 10:8-11
The revelation found in a little book can make a difference for your ministry.
Many years ago I was introduced to a little book by Kenneth Hagin. This little book introduced me to the person who was to teach me about faith and about the ministry. Without going to Bible school and without having the support of certain ministers of the gospel, a little book raised me out of nowhere to write to you. You are reading this book article because of the power of little books.
4. Little children make a big difference
But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.?
Matthew 19:14
Little children are often discounted as being insignificant. Yet, it is the little children who are the key to the expansion of the kingdom. Little children are the key to your church growth. Little children are the key to your missionary work. Little children are the people who will respond to you and to your evangelistic efforts. Jesus said that the kingdom of Heaven is made up of such people.
Little children are also the key to greatness because Jesus taught that the humility of children was the greatest key to greatness. Jesus said the greatest person was the little child. A child?s ability to forgive and forget is a revelation of true greatness. A child?s ability to play with other children of other backgrounds is a revelation of true greatness. A child?s ability to learn and copy is a revelation of true greatness. A child?s ability to copy from another is a revelation of true greatness.
Indeed, little children, although little, can make a great difference in our lives if we will learn from them and become like them.
5. A little wine makes a big difference
Drink no longer water, but use A LITTLE WINE for thy stomach?s sake and thine often infirmities.
1Timothy 5:23
A little wine could make a big difference to Timothy?s health. How important it is to believe that little things can make a big difference to our health. Little sips of coca cola could make a big difference to your size and weight. Little tablets taken everyday could make a big difference to how long you live.
6. A little slumber makes a big difference
Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep: So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth; and thy want as an armed man.
Proverbs 24:33-34
A little more sleep can make a big difference to your financial situation. A little sleep, when you should have been studying can mean that you become a clerk instead of a lawyer. A little sleep instead of diligently working on your farm could mean that your chickens could be eaten by a fox.
It may be an hour?s sleep or a few minutes rest, but you must be careful.
Resting and relaxing too early can be a most dangerous activity.
Indeed, a leader believes that little things make a bit difference!
