Six Persons who defied a hohoe high Court order to hand over a black stool and other stool regalia to the Paramount Chief of Pai- Katanga, nana diawuo bediako ? in the Krachi east district of the Volta Region ? have been sentenced to 30 days imprisonment in hard labour for contempt.
In addition, they have been asked by the court to return the stool and the other items to the Omanhene and his elders after their discharge from prison and report to the court.
The six are S.K. Odum, Constant Kwesi Safo, Kwadjo Owusu, Nana Kwasi Afreh (Baamuhene), Nana Yaw Kese (Twafohene) and Kwaku Anim.
The presiding judge, Mr. Justice G.K. Addai, ordered them to pay GH?3,000 to the Omanhene, Nana

The court on May 29, 2014 ordered the accused persons to hand over the Black Stool and the regalia to Nana Diawuo Bediako, but the accused persons again defied the order and told the court that the stool house was broken into and the Black Stool, among others, allegedly stolen. A report was said to have been made to the police at Pia-Katanga.
In his ruling, the judge remarked that for six years the contemnors had refused to hand over the items to the Omanhene and his elders.
Yaw AduabengYankyera, a Sunyani-based barrister, represented the Omanhene and his elders, whilst Oscar Kwadzo Vulor, a Hohoe-based lawyer, stood in for the accused persons.
