Temenos users confer in Accra

A forum for clients of Temenos, supplier of one of the world?s leading core banking software platforms, T24, has been held in Accra to bring users up to speed on some of the modern trends being developed on the platform.

The annual forum afforded users of the core financial application an opportunity to share knowledge and best practices on how T24? can shape operational strategy and ultimately maximise business value.

Speaking in an interview with the B&FT, Femi Adeoti, Managing Director of Inlaks Computers, a vendor of the T24 application, said Temenos is committed to easing the stress associated with accessing banking services.

?With the advent of the Internet, a lot of things are moving very fast. Not everybody has the time to come to the banking hall, yet they still want to access their normal banking services. So the T24 application affords the consumer so many mobile solutions to enjoy their banking services irrespective of their location,? he said.

As technology advances, he said, the old-fashioned mode of banking — whereby banks put up several branches to access their customers — will eventually give way to infrastructure-free banking that is mostly conducted online.

?Banking is going online, being conducted on our mobile devices. That?s what we are getting across to both our clients as well as the public,? he said.

He added that this year?s theme, ?Beyond the Banking Hall in a Multi-Speed World?, is particularly relevant as banks look into the future to reduce their costs — especially those involving the setting-up of branches.

?Over time, the rate at which banks are opening branches is going to reduce considerably because not everybody will be interested in doing branch-banking. When that happens, banks will actually save a lot of money that hitherto would have been invested in physical infrastructure,? he said.

Temenos, in partnership with Inlaks and Global Solutions, highlighted their proven service offerings in ensuring a safe, predictable and successful implementation. These services include Temenos Implementation Services, Temenos Performance Optimisation Services, Temenos Business Process Optimisation for Core Banking, Temenos Client Architect Service, and Temenos Application Management Service (TAMS).

The forum, hosted by Temenos and Inlaks Computers in conjunction with Global Solutions Limited, brought together about 100 financial sector delegates.
