wpid-Goodluck-Jonathan-Nigerian-President0.jpgThe sleepy North eastern city of Gombe is now in high spirit in anticipation of the rally organized by Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria (TAN) coming up tomorrow.

TAN, smarting from the eventual fait accompli of choice of President Goodluck Jonathan as its sole presidential aspirant in the coming 2015 general election is said to be marching into Gombe with an enhanced swagger.

The political hurricane that the group?s rallies have become is expected to rock down the entire states of the North East, just like it did Awka, Ibadan and Portharcourt.

The group, according to its Director of Operations, Benchuks Nwosu told journalists at the Murtala Mohammed International airport, Lagos on his way to Gombe yesterday disclosed that the eventual choice of Jonathan as the PDP candidate has given impetus to TAN efforts. He noted that though it was just first part of the big task of presenting the president to Nigerians for re-election, it was indeed a major aspect of the process. He said the second part would come after now-when the campaigns would kick off.

A stakeholder from Borno, Alh Shettima Mohammed said his support for Jonathan was borne out of his love for fairness and justice. That since the nation?s constitution allows presidents to stand for re-election, so let President Jonathan complete his second term if he wins. He urged elders and political leaders from all states of the northern Nigeria keep their people in check. He prayed those who have been fanning the embers of disunity, violence and insurgency to have a rethink and allow peace to reign.
