The international based in Abuja, Nigeria, the Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria (TAN) has congratulated Nigeria’s former military Head of state, Gen Yakubu Gowon(rtd) on his eightieth birthday.
The group’s Director of operations, Ben chuks Nwosu, in a statement described the former military leader as a fine officer and gentleman who has remained a source of inspiration to many Nigerians. That he was always on hand to proffer solutions whenever he realize the need arose.
Nwosu noted that this was clearly at variance with some other leaders, elderstatesmen and stakeholders who are known to add to the problem of the country by their conducts, comments and actions. That they thereby use their influence to create tension and instability in the polity instead of making peace.
The TAN chief recalled the role played by Gen Gowon at keeping Nigeria one during 1967-1970 bloody civil war as very heroic.
