The Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria (TAN) has described the negative posture and bitter criticism of the All Progressives Congress’s for the shift in the dates of the nation’s general elections by the Prof Attahiru Jega-led Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) as an indication of President Goodluck Jonathan’s opponents’ lack of love and regard for Nigerians and their lives.

The chief Executive of TAN, Dr Ifeanyi Ubah who spoke with journalists at the Corporate Headquarter of the international Non-Governmental Organization(NGO) said that it is only an irresponsible leader that will close his eyes and railroad his citizens into a raging fire as APC would wish.

He commended the election umpire for listening to the voice of reason and not the loud noise of the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s Lai Mohammed and his co-travelers who he believes do not really mean well for the good people of this country.

Dr Ubah noted that the issues that led to the postponement of the polls dates as revealed by INEC was enough for any responsive and responsible organization to sit back and reflect on what was said and wait, hope and pray for the nation’s military as they intensify efforts to rid the country of insurgents.

The TAN’s boss pointed out that APC’s Lai Mohammed in many fora has described the insurgency in the North-East as total war and wondered why the same person and his pay masters would now be shedding crocodile tears over a position they directly and indirectly called for since no nation will attempt to go to polls at war time.

He emphasized that the APC’s criticism of the postponement was nothing but speaking from both sides of the mouth which he noted has become their hallmark due to the unusual humility and high democratic principles of President Jonathan.
Chief Ubah said that his organization which has successfully raised millions of followers numbering above thirty million for Jonathan through a systematic analysis and presentation of the achievements of Jonathan’s administration at rallies held in the six geo-political zones of the country, capped with a grand finale in Abuja, cannot afford to open up these sincere followers to the brutes who are not interested in their safety.

The TAN boss urged men and women of goodwill to join the group in its prayers for the nation’s military and other security organizations from other friendly nations as they confront the dreaded insurgents and their sponsors.

He commended INEC for rising to the occasion of postponing the polls despite the loud noise made by the APC who are always looking for anything to blackmail the government and its agencies with.

The TAN chief said Jega and his staff have written their names in gold as being very brave, courageous and patriotic. He however urged the election umpire to use the period of postponement to ensure that the issue of the Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) and other materials and logistical challenges needed for the conduct of a free, fair, transparent and acceptable election were handled by the commission.

Ubah also called on all eligible citizens who are yet to collect their Permanent Voters Cards to avail themselves the opportunity provided by the postponement to go and get their cards so that they can perform their civic responsibilities on the date of the elections.
