Management and staff of GRIDCO in Tamale Area marks their safety week. This celebration is GRIDCO?s fifth edition which was marked to climax a year old safety awareness creation among workers of GRIDCO.
?The theme for this year?s event ?Preventing occupational accidents”
The week-long event commenced with a health walk along some principal streets of Tamale, an in-house sensitization and public education through radio discussions.
Speaking on the launch, the Area manager of Tamale Mr George Adune, commended the staff for their tireless efforts and contribution towards the safety measures, adding that, the safety of every worker was paramount. He appeal to all the workers and the General public to actively participate in safety sensitization programmes.
He appeal to the general public to refrain from encroaching around their towers in order to ensure accident free situation during maintenance work and other reports of emergency cases.
On his part, operations and safety supervisor, Mr. Dudzie Dutson appeal to the staff to extend the knowledge imbibed from education on safety measures to their respective homes.
According to GRIDCO’s event calendar safety week observation is earmarked in October every year.
