A former lecturer of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), Nana (Dr) Oduro Kwarteng, was on Thursday, January 18, 2024, presented to the Nimfahen and Regent of Agona Swedru, Nana Kweku Esieni V as the new chief of the town, to be installed.
Nana (Dr.) Oduro Kwarteng’s presentation to the Regent follows the demise of the late Chief, Nana Asiedu Botwe II, who was also the Adontenhen of the Agona Nyakrom Traditional Area.
Before his presentation, Nana (Dr.) Oduro Kwarteng from the Royal Asona Clan was the Guantuahen of the town.
Receiving him, the Nimfahen and Regent of the town, Nana Kweku Esieni, admonished the new chief to use his expertise as an educationist to promote quality education not only in Agona Swedru but in all the areas within the traditional area and also appealed to all sundry to support him achieve this feat when installed.
On his part, Nana (Dr.) Oduro Kwarteng assured the Chiefs and people of the town that he would use his new status to promote not only education but also foster unity among the people and later thank them for the confidence bestowed in him to install him as their new chief.
