Suspected Boko Haram attack defeated by Cameroon army

Three bodies of suspected Nigerian Islamic sect Boko Haram attackers were found on Sunday morning in Balgaram, a town in Cameroonian Far-North Region bordering Nigeria after an attack they launched was defeated by Cameroon army.

According to a military source, the attack took place at around 3 a.m. local time (2 a.m. GMT). The source told Xinhua on phone the attackers were attacking on horseback and their number is not clear.

“The casualties from the attackers are big, but most of the bodies were recovered by themselves. We only recovered three bodies of the attackers,” he added.

The attack came just one day after General Bouba Dobekreo, commander of first sector of Multinational Force of Lake Chad Basin Joint Commission, took office in Maroua, the capital of Far-North Region.

Two suicide bomb blasts happened also on Sunday in Kokofata, another town in the same region, leaving at least 10 people killed and 14 injured. Enditem
