The Coordinator of the National Information Centre, Mike Omeri has confirmed that one of the suspects that masterminded the deadly attack has been arrested by security agencies.
Mr. Omeri, who announce this this evening in Abuja,?however said that the second suspect who was trying to escape using Power Bike was killed by soldiers.
A deadly bomb exploded this afternoon between the busy Bannex and Emab Plazas in Wuse 11, Abuja.
Omeri said the dead suspect was killed by soldiers as he tried to escape after carrying out the devilish act.
Omeri, who is also the Director General of National Orientation Agency (NOA), urged the residents of the FCT to remain calm, avoid the location of the explosion and go about their normal businesses. ? ? ? ? He also said that security agencies have been fully mobilized to the scene of the incident and are handling the situation while emergency services have also been deployed to ensure that the injured are attended to immediately.
Omeri further said that every step is being taken by the government to check the activities of insurgents in the country and advised Nigerians to remain vigilant and conscious of movement of unidentified people around their areas.
He expressed the sympathy of the Federal Government to the families of those that lost their lives just as he wished the injured speedy recovery.
